Can you believe how quickly the year has flown by? It feels like just yesterday we were packing away last year’s holiday decorations, and here we are again, right in the heart of the festive season.
But wait—before you dive headfirst into post-Christmas relaxation mode, let’s talk about a golden opportunity that often gets overlooked: the magical week between Christmas and New Year.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. This time is usually reserved for leftover turkey sandwiches, Netflix marathons, and finally making a dent in that pile of books you’ve been meaning to read.
But here’s the thing: the days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve are a prime time to set the stage for a successful and fulfilling year ahead.
So, let’s chat about why you should make the most of this often-underestimated week and how you can do just that!
First off, why is this time so special?
Well, the hustle and bustle of daily life tend to slow down a bit.
Most people are taking a break, which means fewer emails, fewer meetings, and a whole lot more time to yourself and your family.
If you have young children, you may be in the mood today to slide down a snow slope or simply go skating at the park- this is the kind of things I used to do at this period when I was a kid.
This unique lull offers also a rare chance for reflection and planning without the usual distractions. It’s the perfect moment to pause, evaluate, and strategize for the year ahead.
Fun Fact: This is exactly how Jeff Bezos started Amazon from his garage during the holidays. Everyone thought he was crazy. He he! Now look…
Consider this your personal invitation to carve out some time for thinking big.
Actually, I took the opportunity. Don’t be fooled though, I don’t want to plan a new Amazon. However, the time I take now at planning for the year to come might save me from taking a lot of false resolutions I know I will not pursue for more than 3 months in 2025.
Grab your notebook, find a cozy spot, and start brainstorming your goals and dreams. Whether it’s mastering affiliate marketing, launching that side hustle, or finally kick-starting a personal project, this quiet week is your sandbox.
Let your creativity run wild!
Here’s my simple plan to get you started:
1- Reflect on the Past Year:
What did you achieve? What lessons did you learn?
Jotting these down can provide valuable insight into what you want to carry forward.
This past year has been a whirlwind of learning and growth, with more lessons than I could fit into a single blog post. However, three achievements stand out as particularly significant.
First, I mastered creating Facebook lead ads, understanding how to follow up effectively, and building an engaged audience on TikTok. Through these experiences, I discovered that the combination of quality content, genuine engagement, and consistency is the foundation of success on social media.
These principles also inspired me to post more consistently on my blog, ensuring fresh content for my readers every week.
Beyond technical skills, I made strides in personal development as well. I embraced the power of a positive mindset, worked on breaking unproductive habits, and became more intentional about structuring my online activities. These lessons not only improved my efficiency but also set the stage for long-term growth and success.
2- Set Clear Goals:
Define what you want to accomplish next year. Break these into manageable steps to keep things realistic and attainable.
For the coming year, my goals might seem ambitious, but I’m ready to aim high.
My first goal is to reach the milestone of $100 per month in commissions I have set for my business, see my post “I Did My First Commission And Now What?”.
I also plan to grow my TikTok followers to 1,000, which will unlock the clickable link feature and open up new opportunities for engagement.
In addition to that, I want to establish a new income stream through the Amazon Associate program. Lastly, I’m considering starting an account on Stan Store to further diversify my revenue sources and expand my reach.
These goals are challenging, but I’m confident that with focus and consistency, I can make them a reality.
3- Create a Vision Board:
Gather images and words that represent your goals and dreams. Visualizing success can be incredibly motivating.
4- Read “The Iceberg Effect”:
This book can provide a deeper understanding of the unseen elements of success, helping you plan more effectively. Hey! I read it twice and now it’s my preferred reference book for my business!
5- Commit to Action:
Decide on the first steps you’ll take once the New Year arrives. Having a concrete plan in place will make all the difference.
So, as you enjoy the twinkling lights and festive treats, remember to carve out a little time for yourself. The week between Christmas and the New Year is your chance to set the tone for 2025. Let’s make it count!
Happy Holidays, and here’s to an amazing new year filled with success and happiness. 🎊
