A Healthy Ride to Wealth

It’s Time To Follow up

As you may know, I started doing Facebook lead ads using the Facebook ads manager to grow my email list of subscribers.

I may have spent more money than I was expecting and planning to do, but it works. My campaign is still alive and it still generates a continuous stream of leads for my business.

When I first started the campaign, I was able to achieve somewhere between 0 to a maximum of 3 leads each day!

You’re right that’s not a lot, but you have what you pay for and with a budget of 5$ per day, this is what I was able to achieve and for me, it’s encouraging.

I said in my last post I needed to improve my metrics. Before getting myself working at it “scientifically”, and since yet I have no confidence at all, I just wanted a week to play with my new toy, tame it, and get it at my hand.

Hey, give me a chance! I’m just starting out. Of course I will lose money! Until I learn how to control all those metrics, it’s going to take some time.

My Cost Per Click (CPC) and Cost Per Lead (CPL) last week were both too high and I would be more satisfied if my Click Through Rate (CTR) could be over 5%. If you are lost with those metrics, don’t worry, go read about them in my last post.

Again, I’m actively trying different things, but nothing under a formal test plan.

Last thing I did was to try with a different daily budget so I raise the bar from from 5$ to 20$. Doing this, the ad gain more visibility and was presented to more people, then increasing the number of clicks per day. I did as well some minor changes to the ad copy but nothing really exhaustive.

This reflected in an increased number of leads which became something between 3 to 8 leads per day! 😁

Next week I’ll start to be more systematic with better benchmark testing, hence controlling and changing one parameter at a time to see their influence over several days.

But now that I got people on my list for the first time, you know what this means? It means I have to follow up with them!

There are indeed some leads that came out of my welcoming email workflow during the week. Those leads are now automatically subscribed to my newsletter. I would call them “subscribers”.

It’s time again to do some social.

Why following up is a Big Deal?

Imagine this:

You’ve invited guests to an amazing BBQ party in your backyard, but you forget to tell them what time it starts or what to bring. Yeah this is me. 😒

Chances are, they might not show up, right? That’s exactly what happens when you don’t follow up with your subscribers.

Following up means staying connected, building relationships, and eventually turning those subscribers into loyal customers. Here’s why it’s crucial:

1- Keeps You Top of Mind:

Let’s face it; our inboxes are crowded. Following up ensures you don’t get lost in the noise. Regular, thoughtful emails keep your brand fresh in your subscribers’ minds.

2- Builds Trust and Credibility:

A single email won’t do much to build trust. Consistent communication helps establish your authority and shows that you’re reliable. Remember that building trust takes time and you will achieve nothing at forcing the relation you have with your subscriber for the sake of chasing money.

3- Nurtures Relationships:

Not every subscriber is ready to convert immediately. Following up gives you the chance to nurture these relationships until they’re ready to take the plunge.

4- Increases Conversions:

When it comes to email marketing, the more you engage with your subscribers, the more likely they are to convert. This might sound like common sense, but you’d be surprised how many marketers overlook this simple truth.

Imagine you finally have people at your BBQ party, and someone comes up to you, starts a conversation, and genuinely shows interest in what you have to say. You’re more likely to remember them, right?

The same principle applies to your email subscribers. If you actively engage with them, you’re not just another sender lost in their inbox; you become a familiar and trusted presence.

When subscribers feel valued and understood, they’re more likely to stick around.

Tips for Effective Follow-Up Emails

Alright, now that we know why following up is essential, let’s get into the how. Here are some tips I learned to make your follow-up emails effective and engaging:

1- Personalize Your Emails:

Use their name, reference past interactions, and tailor your content to their interests. It makes a world of difference.

2- Provide Value:

Don’t just sell, sell, sell. Offer valuable content, insights, or resources. Think helpful tips, exclusive offers, or even a great book recommendation (more on that in a bit).😁

3- Be Consistent, Not Annoying:

Find the sweet spot between staying in touch and overwhelming your leads. A good rule of thumb is to send follow-up emails every few days to a week apart, depending on your industry. I chose a week apart for my newsletter so that I don’t get overwhelmed!

4- Include Clear CTAs:

Every email should have a clear call to action. Whether it’s downloading a resource, scheduling a call, or checking out a product, make it easy for your leads to take the next step. In my case, I want my subscribers to return to my blog, so I give the link often in my emails. It’s again a mean of nurturing relationship, a way to build my fan club. 😎

Love this, Martin… your viewers can see you walking the walk and talking the talk. This shows them that there is no get rich quick. This is what it takes. Some people aren’t ready to hear it yet. Some are and will eagerly await finding out what you do next. That’s the beauty of this blog. It’s pure magic, and nobody else does it. I have never seen a blog, a company, or a marketer out there who comes close to Dean and his complete and thorough training. So many “gurus” are teaching such deceptive tactics, and their “students” just blindly follow, thinking this must be the way it’s done… well, no… no, it’s so not! Eventually, they will learn, and I, for one, want to be on the receiving end to educate them when they are again feeling lost and fed up. Well Done!
