A Healthy Ride to Wealth

En Route For The Next Milestone

Celebrations are over.

Now that the 2nd milestone have been reached, I must put my backpack back on my shoulders and pursue on the road to the 3rd milestone, that of my first dollar in commission.

My mindset is good. I’m empowered by the skills I have learned so far.

I don’t really know the road I’m taking. Either or not I’ll meet with struggles along the way doesn’t affect my motivation.

I still have my mentor and also the folks from the Internet Profits Private Community. For me, they are like the people on each side of the road cheering and encouraging the runners at the end of a marathon.

Except they too have their own marathon aside so they know more than anyone else what I’m experiencing.

Gimme five! I tap in your hands my friends! Don’t give up now!

The 3rd Milestone

As I said in my last post, here is the PLAN for the 3rd milestone on my pathway for becoming a super affiliate marketer.

MY PLAN

Own Assets: BLOG, Mailing List

Primary Traffic STRATEGY: TikTok

Secondary Traffic STRATEGY: Quora and Paid Ads

TODO LIST FOR MILESTONE 3

  • Primary traffic strategy- Create and post videos;
  • Secondary traffic strategy- Answer 2 to 5 questions per week on Quora, posting and sharing answers is allowed too;
  • Make a list of my preferred “make money online” related websites and do some Blog Hopping by leaving comments on them;
  • Continue posting each week on my blog;
  • Build a LinkTree page to connect with people;
  • Take coaching lessons from my mentor Dean Holland and continue viewing the live events from Sophie and Glenn;
  • Write and post my newsletter each week;
  • Learn about doing paid ads to get leads and start my firsts paid traffic campaigns;
  • Have fun!

As you can see, it’s all about generating traffic by again creating and publishing content online.

I want visitors to my own asset, which is my blog, for people to click my banners and subscribe to my newsletter. The more people I bring to my blog, the best it is.

This pathway I’m taking, is a phase of awareness. I want people to know me, like me, and eventually, trust me.

Traffic Strategies

My primary traffic strategy

This is the one I want to give most of my time in order to master anything out of it.

Actually, video content is a good candidate, particularly because of its popularity among people from all ages.

Since recently, we have seen the emergence of the concept of short form video which is still in growing demand. Mostly because of its entertaining content which, in a world of fast and on-demand digital products consumption, answers people’s needs as a short form entertainment.

Short form videos, like we found on TikTok for example, are particularly attracting for me because they require less time to produce, and results are more immediate than the long form version as found mainly on Youtube. For a beginner, I think this could be a good strategy to begin with.

Also, another advantage to the short form is that your videos could be shared on several platforms between Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, thus allowing more users to see them.

However the fact is that the viewer’s mindset of short videos is quite different than for long form which leaves us with a different approach to attract followers. With short form videos, people usually are scrolling through the sequence that is being shown to them, the concept allowing viewers to see many videos tailored to their interests and creators they follow.

As a creator of content, our short videos will need to have a good hook at the beginning to drive people’s attention as well as a clear call to action to get interested viewers away from other distractions.

Not much details are given in a short form video, it is more like a bullet point marketing strategy where you must state clearly and rapidly your statements of value.

On the other hand, viewers of long form videos are often searching an answer to a problem or difficulty they have. This form of video allows you to go more in depth into the topic you want to discuss.

Youtube is the second most used search engine in the world after Google. This feature allows people to find you, with a mindset focused on learning. So you create contents that is more informative, with more details and depth than what you would have done with the short form.

Here the hook is more in the banner or icon visual presentation than what you say in the introduction of your video.

Good to know also that this approach takes more organic work than its counter part.

Both content drives followers.

My strategy will be to start creating short form videos to develop my skills of creating this type of content. Then, it is not excluded that I will, at short term, create both forms of videos.

Long form videos have also the advantage that they could be broken into smaller segments so they could be posted as short forms.

At the end, the choice will really depend on the purpose, or the goal, I want to achieve with my videos.

My secondary traffic strategy

The secondary source of traffic is, like said, secondary.

It’s not my intention to give to them much efforts and time than needed.

Because I am already started in Quora with 115 answers that gives a steady grow of views each month, I planned to continue with this strategy but now, not as my main source of traffic.

My intention with Quora is to answer questions from time to time, keep the grow of views steady, and increase my followers. However, I will not stress if I let a day or two passing without getting in touch.

Is it a bad decision? Not necessarily, as far as I’m discovering the many sides of traffic generation and figure out the one I like most.

Also, I want to free-up time to slowly start to learn to do paid traffic ads in order to eventually bring it as my main source of traffic.

My First TikTok

I did my first TikTok short form video. You can see it here.

My First TikTok

Ok. You’re allowed to laugh at it as much as you want. 😏

I will improve…😁

My LinkTree Page

LinkTree is yet another tactic that allows people from everywhere to more easily connect with me, in a multitude of ways. It is a simple web page of content about myself, which I can personalize and where I can make my own “publicity”.

On this page you will find my bio as well as all the links where actually you can connect with me, including this blog and a link to subscribe to my newsletter.

I make accessible online this page from anywhere I want to.

The power of LinkTree is actually embedded inside my Affiliate System account which is really nice.

For those who doesn’t know yet, Affiliate System is the working platform for all my affiliate marketing needs. This entity was created by Dean Holland and released recently to partners as part of a new brand that belongs to company Internet Profits ltd.

You can look at my LinkTree page here.

For now it is really basic.

However it is my intention to be a bit more creative with it.

Get People On That List

Now that I’m on my way for my first dollar in commission, my wish is to get there keeping the positive mindset I have actually.

I will work hard and commit with my efforts to progress in the right direction.

One important objective is to get people on my email list.

This list will become, with my blog, another important asset from which I could make money. In fact, it’s maybe the most important one because it’s my audience, an audience I own and from which I can build and sustain a good relationship, provide special content, exchange, and make offers that can solve their problems.

If you haven’t done yet subscribe to my newsletter. This can only be a plus for you, especially you who wish to start your own business in affiliate marketing, be your own boss, and live eventually the life of your dreams.

Wouldn’t it be nice to meet somewhere along this road?

In the comments below, I would like you to tell me what are the primary traffic strategies that suit you most?

Is it video creation?

Or maybe you would prefer to go with written form of contents like getting around forums, or other written medias?

Maybe your thing is to do podcasts why not?

Think about it and see you next week!

Martin

    Congratulations on your first TikTok! It looks great!
    I am concentrating on blogging as my primary traffic strategy, and I think I might also make YouTube a traffic source.
    It looks like I’m just a few steps behind you. I really like your vision of backpacking up a mountain.
    Onward and upward, my friend!

    Martin,
    Congratulations 🎊 on your first Tik-Tok video! Just getting your foot wet will start the flow of graduating the fear of creating content. Fear is the #1 thing that holds us all back… Once that is conquered then it will get easier and better over time. Listen to me, I’m talking like I’m an experienced person when it comes to creating content. 😂 Not the case at all… It’s just like anything in life really. It takes time and patience before getting it right. Thanks for the post. I look forward to your next one.

      And now I will post the second one soon. Talking about fears, you are right, I really felt a bit scared on that first try but I guess the second one will be more relax. Note that I have to tame the camera as well as the language 😄
      Take care.

    Congrats Martin! You’ll definitely remember that 1st video milestone!
    I’m like you, looking to see if/what options I may take regarding my marketing strategy.
    The good news is I’m leaving on a couple of weeks vacation this coming Wednesday and will take that time to hammer it all out!
    Looking forward to reading your successes with Tik Tok.
    Take care.

      Hey Marc! I don’t know if I will remember that video in details but at least I know I will remember that it took me lots of time to do it. Hopefully you have vacations.
      Sometimes it feels to me that this business is a distraction from my day job and my day job is a distraction for my business. In all cases I need vacations because this puzzle is getting me headaches. If someday I want to become my own boss, bet which distraction I prefer!

    Martin, well done on your first TikTok it was really good. I have liked it and I have started to follow you. Regarding your strategy I am also doing something very similar to you. I am doing TikTok . I’ve only been doing it for about four days, and it’s not easy to learn how to do everything, but I am getting views and I am getting followers slowly. Also I was doing Quora most of last year and even though you get lots of questions and lots of views, I found that nobody really clicks my bio and I didn’t gain any subscribers from it. So also like you, I will start looking at pairs ads to at least guarantee some subscribers going forward while I learn more about the social media which will take time. Great blog thanks very much. All the best. Thanks Atif

    Look at you go! What an inspiration! I’m impressed with your first TikTok, I think it was great. Thank you for writing such a great outline of your current action steps. I think for those of us that are following your progress, it’s super helpful to see just exactly where you are in “real time.” I can’t wait to see next week’s progress (and hopefully more TikTok’s!)

    Martin,
    Congratulations on your first TikTok. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and will also be undertaking TikTok as my primary traffic, as well as Instagram. We have to start somewhere right. I know very little of Quora so I will have to check it out. I look forward to your next post and your next TikTok.
