The Four Pillars of Business Success (Your Roadmap to Building an Online Income Stream That Actually Works)
If you’ve been researching how to start an online business or how to begin affiliate marketing, you’ve probably noticed something pretty quickly:
There’s a lot of noise out there.
When I started my own affiliate marketing journey, I felt completely overwhelmed — thousands of videos, conflicting strategies, and no real direction. I wanted to build a simple online income stream alongside my 9–5, but every path I explored seemed complicated or unclear.
The company Internet Profits, led by Dean Holland, has always leaned on four core ideas to cut through that noise: a plan, coaching, community, and tools. I still believe in those four pillars — they’re the reason structured programs work when scattered free content doesn’t. What’s changed is what actually fills each one. As of 2026, the Internet Profits Academy has rebuilt itself around something Dean calls the Model ONE Method, and I want to walk you through what that actually looks like today, pillar by pillar.
The Four Pillars of Business Success
Pillar 1: A Proven Plan (Your Success Blueprint)
A proven plan gives you a step-by-step roadmap for action. Instead of guessing, you follow a sequence that’s already been tested in today’s market.
Here is why it matters:
- Reduces wasted time and trial-and-error
- Gives you realistic milestones to track progress
- Helps prioritize what to learn and when
Today, that plan is called the Model ONE Method, and it comes down to three things:
ONE Solution, built with AI as the tool that handles the heavy technical lifting
ONE Audience — a specific group of people you actually understand
ONE Problem — the real thing that audience wants solved
You identify all three inside the free Model One Challenge — a 60-minute training that’s the entry point to the whole Academy now, replacing the old “pick a success path” structure.
I haven’t taken the official Model One Challenge myself yet — though I went through a similar foundational process earlier, reading Dean’s Iceberg Effect book, which walks through much of the same underlying thinking about audience and problem. I’ll be doing the actual 60-minute Challenge soon, and I’ll share what I find once I have.
Pillar 2: Coaching (Real Feedback, Faster Progress)
Coaching is the hands-on guidance that prevents beginner mistakes and speeds up results.
What coaching provides:
- Direct answers to your questions
- Personalized feedback on what you’re doing right and wrong
- Accountability so you keep moving forward
- Shortcuts based on real experience rather than theory
For anyone juggling a full-time job, coaching can be the difference between inching forward and finally building real momentum.
Inside the Academy, coaching scales with your membership level. Premium members get Live Growth Lab Sessions and Daily Expert Live Help — real, responsive support, not just pre-recorded material. VIP members go further, with direct weekly access to Dean Holland himself: Weekly Constraint Crusher Sessions, one-on-one time focused specifically on your business, and monthly topical workshops.
(Correction from an earlier version of this post: direct access to Dean isn’t a Premium benefit — it’s VIP specifically. Worth knowing before you pick a tier.)
Pillar 3: Community of Like-Minded People (The Support That Keeps You Going)
A community is different from coaching — it’s peer support, encouragement, and shared learning.
Why community matters:
- You learn from others’ wins and mistakes
- You get moral support during slow weeks
- Shared resources, tips, and small wins build momentum
- It removes the isolation that causes many people to quit
That’s exactly what I’ve experienced inside the Skool community that comes with Academy membership — and worth noting, this one’s included from the free Standard tier, not something you need to pay to access.
The support I’ve received there has been incredible. People celebrate your wins, help you troubleshoot when you get stuck, and remind you that you’re not the only one building a business in the margins of a busy life.
Pillar 4: Simple Tools (Lean, Practical, Affordable)
Tools should reduce friction — not create it.
This is the pillar that’s changed the most since I first wrote this post.
If you read an earlier version of this post, you may remember a tool bundle called “Affiliate System.” That’s since been rebuilt and remarketed as Internet Profits AI — a complete AI-assisted CRM for email marketing and funnel building, now its own dedicated platform. It runs well over $100/month (currently $397/month). I don’t earn a commission on Internet Profits AI, not yet.
Separately, the primary “tool” behind the Model ONE Method itself is AI in a more direct sense — used to help research your idea, validate real demand, and build the actual solution. If you upgrade to Premium or VIP, that process gets a name: Zero to Launch, a step-by-step blueprint that walks you from your Model ONE foundation toward an actual product, with AI doing much of the technical heavy lifting along the way.
One honest note: Zero to Launch eventually points toward Internet Profits OS, a separate AI build platform — currently $79/month — where the app itself actually gets built. I don’t earn a commission on Internet Profits OS either but I know I will eventually.
Between Internet Profits AI and Internet Profits OS, there’s real potential added cost beyond your Academy membership if you go deep into this path — I’d rather you know that upfront than find out later.
How These Pillars Connect With the Internet Profits Academy
The Internet Profits Academy is still built around these same four pillars — they just look different than they did when I first wrote this post:
- A proven plan — now the Model ONE Method itself
- Coaching — scaled across Premium’s expert help and VIP’s direct access to Dean
- A community — the Skool community, available from the free Standard tier
- The right tools — AI as the working method, with Internet Profits OS as the optional next step if you want to build and launch
No hype — just structure, clarity, and ongoing support, updated for how the Academy actually works today.

Conclusion: Start With the Pillars, Build With Confidence
Don’t chase every shiny hack. Start with what actually matters: a plan, coaching, community, and the right tools — now built around one clear model instead of scattered strategies.
Start small, be consistent, and build the business piece by piece.
You don’t have to do it alone — and when these pillars are in place, the path becomes far more predictable.
